Photo of Gen. Frank GrassGeneral Frank J. Grass serves as the 27th Chief, National Guard Bureau and as a member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. In this capacity, he serves as a military adviser to the President, Secretary of Defense, National Security Council and is the Department of Defense's official channel of communication to the Governors and State Adjutants General on all matters pertaining to the National Guard. He is responsible for ensuring that the more than 470,000 Army and Air National Guard personnel are accessible, capable and ready to protect the homeland and to provide combat resources to the Army and Air Force.

Director, Air National GuardLieutenant General Harry M. Wyatt III, is the Director, Air National Guard, Arlington, Virginia. General Wyatt is responsible for formulating, developing and coordinating all policies, plans and programs affecting more than 106,800 Guard members in more than 88 flying wings and 200 geographically separated units throughout the United States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam and the Virgin Islands.

tabAdjutant General, South Dakota 
Major General (SD) Timothy A. Reisch was appointed by Governor Dennis Daugaard as South Dakota's 21st Adjutant General on 2 April 2011. As the Adjutant General, he serves as the Commanding General for both the South Dakota Air and Army National Guard and guides the preparation of 4,400 Air and Army National Guard citizen Soldiers and Airmen and 950 full-time Federal and State employees to respond in times of state or national emergency. He is responsible for Federal and State missions, assignment of leaders, recruiting, training, equipping, mobilization, facilities and public relations. He is also responsible for formulating, developing and coordinating all policies, plans and programs affecting Air and Army National Guard members in South Dakota. General Reisch serves on the Governor's cabinet as the Secretary of The Military. In this capacity, he is the principle advisor to the Governor on all matters involving use of the National Guard.

tabCommander, 114th Fighter WIng 
Col. Russ A. Walz, 114th Fighter Wing commander, ensures all military personnel realize the effectiveness of the mission, work as a team, have high standards of conduct, and the ability to embody those standards as members of the South Dakota Air National Guard. A Wing Commander not only provides strong internal leadership, but also strong external relationships are maintained with the Governor, Adjutant General, Air National Guard Director, Air Force Commanders, Chamber of Commerce, and the United Way. Additionally, the Wing Commander is responsible for carrying out federal and state missions, and maintaining the highest level of combat readiness. The Commander maintains a mission ready status in the 114th Fighter Wing's primary authorized aircraft, the F-16C Falcon.

tabVice Commander, 114th Fighter Wing 
Col. Steven C. Warren, 114th Fighter Wing vice commander, leads and directs subordinate commanders of the 114th Fighter Wing in the formulation of plans, the establishment of policies, and the completion of training. The Vice Commander directs and monitors the Air National Guard's annual activities to include exercises, inspections and evaluations. In the Commander's absence, the Vice Commander is responsible for the unit and for carrying out federal and state missions. The Vice Commander maintains a mission ready status in the 114th Fighter Wing's primary authorized aircraft, the F-16C Falcon.

Command Chief, 114th Fighter WingChief Master Sgt. Kevin D. Uthe is the Command Chief Master Sergeant for the 114th Fighter Wing at Joe Foss Field, Sioux Falls, S.D. He represents the highest level of enlisted leadership for the 114th Fighter Wing. Chief Uthe is responsible for the interest regarding welfare, readiness, morale, proper utilization and progress concerning the enlisted personnel of the 114th Fighter Wing.
