This Web site has been produced as an online version of the chartbook, The Health and Well-Being of Children: A Portrait of States and the Nation 2007
Published by HRSA's MCHB in July 2009, the chartbook is based on data from the 2007 National Survey of Children's Health. This is the second round of the survey; however, some questions were revised since the 2003 survey, and not all findings are comparable to those from the 2003 survey.
Indicators here report on the health and well-being of children, as well as the factors in the family environment and aspects of the neighborhood that may support or undermine the health of children and their families. The indicators present information on the health status and risk and protective factors experienced by children:
- on the National level
- within the subpopulations who are at particular risk
- on the State level for each of the 50 States and the District of Columbia
