Army announces Prescribed Burn Intent for 2012

 

PRESIDIO OF MONTEREY, Calif. – The Army has identified Unit 10 in the former Fort Ord Impact Area as part of its 2012 Prescribed Burn Plan to clear vegetation. After the vegetation is burned, munitions-removal experts will then be able to more safely enter the area to remove unexploded munitions and explosives remaining from when Soldiers trained at Fort Ord when it was an active base.
