As directed by Congress, we issued our final report on the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) FY 2005 budget request. Our objectives were to determine whether: (1) budget requests were adequately planned and supported; (2) OCIO and Operating Administrations coordinated with each other in preparing for FY 2005 IT budget requests to avoid duplicative or overlapping items; and (3) progress had been made to strengthen IT investment management, improve IT security controls, and implement E government services in the Department. A draft of the report was issued on March 1.
