Consul General Inmi Kim Patterson

Inmi Kim Patterson is a career member of the U.S. Foreign Service. Her professional experiences include U.S. State Department public affairs work in Japan, China, and Kenya; a stint in the Political Section at the U.S. Embassy in Moscow, and multilateral organization work with the U.S. Mission to the OSCE in Vienna.

Prior to joining Foreign Service she taught at George Washington University, Washington, D.C. and was a consultant for the environmental organization Earth Watch's Moscow office and the UNCEF office in Beijing.

Inmi Patterson is a native of South Korea. She has a doctorate in developmental psychology from Catholic University, Washington, D.C. Inmi speaks fluent Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Russian, French and German. She is married to Foreign Service Officer Bob Patterson, who currently is U.S. Ambassador to Turkmenistan. She has three daughters.
