Misawa Airman preflights before OIF mission

BALAD AIR BASE, Iraq -- Capt. Pete Schnobrich, 13th Expeditionary Fighter Squadron flight commander, preflights his GBU-38 Inertially Aided Munitions for a night sortie and his 100th combat mission in Operation Iraqi Freedom. Misawa Airmen prepare for downrange missions

BALAD AIR BASE, Iraq -- Capt. "Cuda" Wolfard, 13th Expeditionary Fighter Squadron plans officer, sets the laser code to his GBU-12 Laser Guided Bombs on his 41st mission in Operation Iraqi Freedom. Fuel King

Senior Airman Justin Neal, deployed from the 35th Logistics Readiness Squadron, is is presented with a coin for excellence from Lt. Col. Robert Hoff, 379th Expeditionary Logistics Readiness Squadron commander. Airman Neal recieved the coin for breaking the record for most fuel pumped in one month at his deployed location in Southwest Asia. He pumped 2.1 million gallons of fuel. In recognition of his efforts, a 2.1 million gallon fuel tank was named "Tank Neal."

Misawa families send care packages downrange

MISAWA AIR BASE, Japan -- Jules Williams, 4, creates a design on the side of a care package Sept. 5 in the 35th Security Forces Squadron conference room. The spouses of deployed SFS Airmen got together to send off care packages for their loved ones. Children decorated the boxes with well wishes with the help of their parents. The squadron Readiness Assistant Volunteer Karen Rinehart organized the evening, which included pizza, chips, soda, water and homemade cupcakes. The families put together more than 50 packages. The evening was also an opportunity for the spouses to meet the squadron commander and first sergeant. Jules is the son of Senior Airman Tyrone and Desiree Nutter. (U.S. Air Force photo by Tech. Sgt. Misawa K-9 team demonstrate team work

MANAS AIR BASE, Kyrgyz Republic -- Staff Sgt. Manuel Garcia and Jimmy, his K-9 partner, along with another Airman provide a demonstration to 15 first graders from Kelechek Elementary School during a school tour here. The group visited explosive ordnance disposal team, the K-9s and the fire department.
