The Operations and Security Branch supports the NIEHS mission by providing security, emergency management, lab equipment fabrication and repair, and energy and water conservation program services.

The Operations and Security Branch supports the NIEHS mission by providing the following services:
- A secure environment for employees, visitors and property
- Emergency and crisis planning, preparedness and response
- Maintaining select lab equipment and fabricating specialty research devices
- Leading the institute's energy and water conservation programs
