Reps. Mica and Adams to Host WWII Vets As They Visit Their Memorial in DC


        Washington, D.C. – U.S. Reps. John L. Mica (R-07) and Sandy Adams (FL-24) on Saturday, May 14th will host 184 World War II veterans and guardians as travel to our nation’s capital to visit their memorial.

        WHEN:Saturday, May 14, 2011?             Arriving at Reagan National Airport at 8:20 a.m.
                     Departing from Regan National Airport at 6:30 p.m.


        During their trip to Washington, the group will be visiting the National World War II Memorial which honors over 16 million veterans who served in World War II, those who died and those who supported the war here at home.  The Memorial was dedicated on May 29, 2004, nearly 59 years after the end of the War.   ?The day’s events will include a luncheon at the Capitol, hosted by Congressmen Mica and Adams, featuring guest speaker Vice Admiral Bernard McCullough, III, Commander of the U.S. Fleet Cyber Command and Commander of the U.S. 10th Fleet.??At 3:15 p.m. in the afternoon, Rep. Mica, Rep. Adams and the group will tour Arlington National Cemetery and participate in a wreath laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknowns.??Additionally, the veterans will take a bus tour of the Korean War Memorial, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall, the Iwo Jima Memorial and other area landmarks.
