Washington, D.C. – Congressman John L. Mica has announced that federal officials have approved a national declaration for assistance that would make Putnam and Flagler Counties eligible for public assistance under federal guidelines.  This declaration makes local governments qualified to receive reimbursements for the repair or replacement of disaster-damaged facilities and infrastructure.
        Putnam and Flagler were hit by record rainfalls when recent storms lingered for more than a week.  Representative Mica said, “I am hopeful that these funds will assist our communities that have already experienced short budgetary shortfalls and have now suffered significant storm damages.”
