Offering Moldovan television viewers an independent source of news coverage, a new network of regional television stations has been established with the support of the U.S. Agency for International Development’s (USAID’s) Media Program in Moldova (MPM).

On September 27, 2011, U.S. Ambassador William H. Moser and Moldovan Prime Minister Vlad Filat participated in a ceremony to mark the signing of amendments to two existing U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) assistance agreements, providing Moldova with an additional $2 million for Local Government and Rule of Law activities.

On July 22, 2011, the United States Government and the Government of Moldova signed an assistance agreement to support justice sector reforms in Moldova. Under this agreement, the U.S. Government, represented by U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Moldovan Government will cooperate to improve policies, laws, regulations and overall administration of the judiciary.

Radio “Info-Junior” was created by a group of young leaders, students at “Gheorghe Asachi” high school from Ungheni.

USAID/Moldova’s Citizen Participation Program celebrated six years of achievement at a closing conference held in Chisinau on February 18th, 2011.
