Salute to Veterans Week

The week of February 10-16 is designated National Salute to Veterans Week, and the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Medical Center pays tribute to America’s heroes – the men and women we proudly care for and serve, as well as over 210 of our 650 plus employees who have served their country in the military. Men and women who have given more than most to protect and preserve all we hold dear as Americans. This week, we join VA facilities across the nation in saluting these men and women who have paid and continue to pay the price of freedom (click on the "Full Story" link to see the week's planned activities for our Community Living Center residents). As spelled out in large letters when you enter our long term care Community Living Center, “The Price of Freedom is observed here.” There are are no words that can adequately express what their sacrifices have meant to the nation. However, we can take time to express our personal thanks and appreciation to them.
