Military Heroes Initiative

The EAC manages the Military Heroes Initiative, a $500,000 two-year grant aimed at advancing voting technology and processes for recently injured military personnel. EAC and Federal Voting Assistance Program (FVAP) are working together on this initiative to research what recently injured military personnel need to participate in federal elections. More information about this initiative can be found in our grants section.

Pilot Program Testing Guidelines

FVAP runs a pilot program to test the ability of new and emerging technology to better serve military and overseas citizens. EAC created guidelines to be used by FVAP for the development of a remote electronic voting system. More information about these guidelines can be found in our voting system testing and certification section.

Research

EAC gathers data from states for each federal election on the number of overseas and military voter ballots that are transmitted, returned, and cast. This data is included in EAC's biennial Election Administration and Voting Survey. In addition, EAC has issued several surveys to better understand the process and experience of military and overseas voting. View those reports here.

Events

EAC holds many meeting and roundtable discussions on issues that affect military and overseas voters. These events bring together top experts in the field to work to solve the problems that affect the voting rights of military and overseas citizens. More information on these events can be found in our events section.
