Exercises in 2011

Noble Mariner

Noble Mariner LogoThe NATO Response Force 11/2 (NRF 17) will be conducting a maritime exercise, code-named NOBLE MARINER 11 between 28 February – 10 March 2011 in the Mediterranean Sea and Atlantic Ocean.  The aim of the exercise is to ensure that the NATO Response Force is fully prepared for operations wherever in the world it is sent. The NOBLE MARINER exercise will really put the NATO personnel through their paces.  They will be trained in how to  conduct real operations – such as humanitarian and disaster relief, together with providing security and assistance to stabilise a situation or crisis.  NOBLE MARINER 11 will take place off the coast of Spain and will involve up to 3,000 NATO personnel from 11 countries.  The exercise will involve 17 warships, including Spanish Command Ship SPS Castilla, 5 aircraft and 3 submarines. Further details on the exercise, including the names of ships taking part will be published at the end of January.  Photographs and news releases will be added to the NOBLE MARINER website throughout the exercise.  Full Details
