The VA Acquisition Academy Acquisition Internship School’s Warriors to Workforce Program (W2W) is designed to prepare wounded Veterans for a successful transition into a career as a Contract Specialist (GS-1102). This program provides wounded Veteran interns with the training and education necessary to obtain a Federal Acquisition Certification in Contracting (FAC-C) Levels I and II (
www.fai.gov). The program prepares interns to become trusted business partners capable of exercising sound business judgment to achieve exceptional results that best serve Veterans.

General Training & Development Experiences
Training Content
During the first year of the program, participants will earn the 24 college educational credits in business required to earn eligibility for the Contracting Series (GS-1102) to become contracting professionals. The Year One curriculum also includes an introduction to acquisition and the VA mission, and a training component focusing on developing the mental and emotional skills needed to succeed in this challenging career series. During the second and third years of the program, interns attend and complete the two-year Acquisition Internship program.
