Mr. Ardisson L. Lyons was appointed Deputy Director of the Intelligence Advanced Research Projects Activity (IARPA) on 27 September 2010.

Mr. Lyons began his career in 1989 as an Electronic Engineer in the Office of Communications of the Central Intelligence Agency. During the following 21 years, he held assignments in three Directorates in technical and managerial leadership roles of increasing scope. Hallmarks of his accomplishments are forward leaning technical programs and innovative collaborations across organizational boundaries.

Before joining CIA, Mr. Lyons completed five Co-Op assignments at E-Systems and Florida Power. He has a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Clemson University and a Master's degree in Systems Engineering from George Mason University. Mr. Lyons was the 1998 CIA Engineer of the Year.

Mr. Lyons was born and raised in Florida and enjoys a wide variety of outdoor activities. He and his wife Linda live in Northern Virginia.
