Abstract:	This report from the Maine Rural Health Research Center presents results of a study that examined rural-urban differences in characteristics of persons with diabetes and risk factors for diabetes in the general population. It includes an analysis of national data from the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance Survey and case studies. The report includes recommendations for policy strategies to improve the rural safety net for diabetics. It includes tables, figures, and references.
