The VA now offers two automated options for ordering your
prescription refills: by phone and on-line. Read the instructions
below to see which option is right for you.
Instructions
for Using the Automated
Telephone Prescription Refill System
Before you begin,
make sure you read the guidelines below:
- This system is for REFILLS ONLY
and cannot be used to pick up a prescription at the OBVAMC
window.
- Request
your refill as early as you wish, but at least ten (10) days
before you run out of your medicine.
- You must
use a touch-tone phone. If you do not have a touch-tone phone,
mail in the refill request slip you received with your last
prescription.
- Have your prescription
vials handy because you will need to provide your prescription
numbers.
Then:

Dial 990-5547 or 1-800-863-7441, Enter “1”,
then Ext. 5547.
- Enter your full Social Security Number,
followed by the pound (#) sign.
- Press “2” to
reach the Pharmacy Options, then Press “1” for
refills.
- Enter your prescription number (found on
the prescription bottle label), followed by the pound
(#) sign.
- While in the Pharmacy
Options, you may press “2” to
check on the status of a prescription, or you may
press “8” to speak with a Pharmacy Technician
between 8:00am and 4:30pm, Monday through Friday.
Instructions for Using the Internet Prescription Refill
System
Before
you begin, make sure you read the guidelines below:
- This system is for REFILLS ONLY

- You must
be registered with the My HealtheVet web site. To
register, go to www.myhealth.va.gov and
follow the instructions for registration.
- Have
your prescription vials handy because you will need your
prescription numbers.
Then:
- Access
MyHealtheVet and
login. Click on “Pharmacy” and “Refill
My Prescriptions”.
- Click on the box corresponding to
the prescription number you want refilled.
- When you are finished
requesting your refills, click “Submit”.
- You may
also check on the status of your prescriptions and prescription
refill history using MyHealtheVet.
