Enable Secure Data Access and Sharing
caBIG® provides a variety of pathways to achieving interoperability. Depending on their existing infrastructure, resources, and needs, institutions may install caBIG®-compatible applications, adapt existing in-house or 3rd party commercial applications to become interoperable with capabilities provided by the caBIG® program, or leverage a variety of tools to make data resources interoperable.
Many institutions pursue hybrid approaches, leveraging multiple paths to interoperability, depending on their specific needs and their existing IT infrastructure.
