About Special Events

Special events can be effective forms of outreach because they:

• Attract large numbers of people—clients, staff, the public, the media, even local officials if you choose to invite them.
  
• Engage those people in a fun activity.
  
• Make people more receptive to learning about your organization.
  
• May increase volunteers.
  
• May garner media coverage, sharing your message with even more people.
  
• May pave the way for future partnerships.
