XM2010 Enhanced Sniper Rifle Fielding Featured in “Infantry Bugler” Magazine

In September, the “Infantry Bugler” magazine ran a cover story on the Army’s fielding of the new XM2010 Enhanced Sniper Rifle (ESR).  The XM2010 incorporates a .300 Winchester Magnum upgrade to the M24 Sniper Weapon System that significantly increases Army sniper capabilities by extending the weapon system’s effective range by 50 percent.  The new weapons have performed well and the sniper teams have provided positive feedback.  the Army has authorized PEO Soldier to “pure fleet”, which means upgrading all remaining M24s to XM2010s.
