Commander's Seat Belt Enforcement and Accountability Policy
The commander had been stepping up the awareness on seatbelt wear and cell phone use for months with the Safety Office leading the charge, but the recent downward trend in compliance forced more intense scrutiny - and punishment.
"The lack of seatbelt use on this base is intolerable," said Col. Wayne McGee, 460th Space Wing Commander. "Furthermore, the use of cell phones without a hands-free device while driving is unacceptable. I am enacting an aggressive program to detect and apprehend all persons who violate these policies." (U.S. Air Force graphic by Staff Sgt. Scott McNabb)

Mississippi Gate construction, lane restriction to change traffic pattern
The Mississippi Gate will undergo construction to build a new commercial vehicle inspection shelter from Feb. 18-July 30. The construction will require lane changes when using the gate. Buckley passes water standards
Following the table across, the action level is a concentration that triggers some type of control or treatment. The AL for lead and copper is based on the 90 percent rule - 90 percent of all samples taken must be below the AL. Buckley?s 90th percentile result was .5 parts per million for copper and less than 2 parts per billion for lead. Maximum contamination level is the limit below which there is no known or expected risk to health. Buckley did not violate the lead and copper rule.

AF helps Lockheed Martin ship Mars lander
This is an artist rendition of the Phoenix lander. Phoenix is the first mission of NASA's Mars Scout Program. The spacecraft will land on the icy northern latitudes of Mars. During its approximately 90-day mission, Phoenix will dig trenches with its robotic arm into the frozen layers of water below the surface. The spacecraft will use various on-board instruments to analyze the contents of the ice and soil; all in the hopes of finding organic compounds that are necessary for life. (Courtesy graphic)
