A Moment of Instant Gratification

Instant gratification is not usually a big part of my day as a federal bureaucrat. But on March 10, 2011, I got to experience it. March 10 was the White House Conference on Bullying Prevention. Farewell

This is my last post as Assistant Deputy Secretary. As you may know, I have resigned effective June 9 to return to the non-profit sector and, well, today is my last day. In the past two years in this role, I have had the opportunity to visit 33 states. U.S. ED Launches a New Website to Commemorate the 10th Anniversary of September 11, 2001

A new website is now available from the U.S. Department of Education with 9/11 Materials for Teachers. This new website presents a set of resource materials focused on the anniversary of 9/11, which were developed under federal grants supported by the U.S. Department of Education. New Search Tool Helps Users Find Federal Grants to Fund Youth Programs

The Interagency Working Group on Youth Programs (FindYouthInfo.gov) has created an online Web tool that allows users to search for federal grant opportunities by youth topic or federal agency on Grants.gov.
