Flight Photos for 1988
The Air Force began issuing battle dress uniforms (BDUs) to basic trainees. Commonly called camouflaged fatigues, they replaced the long-issued green fatigue uniform that had earned recruits the nickname of "pickles" until they began wearing their blue uniforms.
