Subcontracting with Small Businesses

It is the policy of UT-Battelle, LLC, to provide maximum practical opportunities for small, small disadvantaged, women-owned, labor-surplus-area, and other socioeconomically disadvantaged businesses to supply the goods and services used in the company's operations. Special emphasis will continue to be placed on subcontracting opportunities with minority-owned firms and with minority educational institutions.

Doing Business with ORNLAs part of this policy, the Oak Ridge National Laboratory Small Business Programs Office and the Procurement Division will continue to identify qualified firms and encourage them to establish good business relationships with UT-Battelle. Vendors will be afforded a reasonable opportunity to become familiar with the company's purchasing requirements and procedures and to market their goods and services. Operational business units will seek opportunities suitable for performance by small and disadvantaged firms and will provide support to these companies as required, consistent with business unit needs. These efforts will be accomplished in consonance with existing procurement policies and applicable federal regulations.
