Lieutenant Colonel Steven F. Egan received his commission from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1994 as a Second Lieutenant in the Infantry.  He branch transferred to the Military Police Corps the following year.
LTC Egan served on Active Duty in numerous leadership and staff assignments, to include Graduate Assistant, Department of Behavioral Science and Leadership, USMA, West Point, New York, Platoon Leader, 437th Military Police Company, Fort Belvoir, Virginia, Assistant Battalion S3, 728th Military Police Battalion, Teagu, Korea, Company Commander, Fort Belvoir Military Police Company and Deputy Provost Marshal, Fort Belvoir, Virginia.
LTC Egan served as a mobilized reservist with the 3rd/312th Training Support Battalion, Fort Meade, Maryland before entering the AGR program in 2004.  His notable assignments include the Overseas Deployment Training Officer and Operations Officer, 8th US Army (CONUS), Indianapolis, Indiana, Battalion S3, 744th Military Police Battalion, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and Total Force Integrator Combat Developer, Maneuver Support Center of
Excellence, Fort Leonard Wood, MO.

LTC Egan deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2008 as the Operations Officer, Remembrance II, Theater Internment Facility, Camp Cropper, Baghdad, Iraq with the 744th MP Battalion. LTC Egan earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Individual Psychology from the United States Military Academy at West Point and graduated with honors from Webster University at Saint Louis, Missouri with a Master of Arts degree in Business and Organizational Security Management.  His military education includes the Military Police Basic Office Course, the Captains Career Course, the Combined Arms Services and Staff School, Intermediate Level Education, and the Advanced Operations Course.  He is currently enrolled in the Army War College Distance Education Program.

Among the awards and decorations he has earned, Lieutenant Colonel Egan has received the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (1 Oak Leaf Cluster), Army Commendation Medal (5 Oak Leaf Clusters), Army Achievement Medal (2 Oak Leaf Cluster), Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal (with Bronze Hourglass and numeral 2), Korean Defense Service Medal, Meritorious Unit Citation, among several other awards, the Air Assault  Badge and the German Armed Forces Efficiency Badge-Gold.
