OVERVIEW
The 5th Battle Command Training Brigade, also know as the "Wild West Brigade" is the premier trainer of Battle Command Staff and Army Battle Command Systems (ABCS) – meeting the needs of today’s modern, multi-component Army. We provide high quality, creative and value-added solutions for our client units’ BCST needs. We are aggressive but collegial, teamwork-oriented and diligent. Our trainers come from every corner of military service and a wide variety of training backgrounds. You will not find a finer staff of professional, motivated Observer/Controller/Trainers anywhere in the United States Army. We are driven to be the best – whatever the task; we constantly seek improvement through innovation, doctrinal fluency and education, and shared vision.
The 5th Battle Command Training brigade is responsible for providing Battle Command Staff Training to battalion and brigade level unit staffs by educating, training and mentoring. Training includes all aspects of Battle Command Operations to include the Military Decision-Making Process (MDMP), Battle Command Digital C2 Systems (ABCS), Counter-Insurgency Operations (COIN), Intelligence Preparation (IPB), Battle Staff Operations, Battle Staff NCO Operations, and other critical tasks essential to mission accomplishment. Our training encompasses the entire tri-component Army – Regular Army, Army Reserve and National Guard.
The Wild West Brigade conducts training across the western United States, both at our headquarters at Camp Parks in California and at Army Training Centers of Excellence like Ft. Bliss, TX and Ft. Lewis, WA. We also have satellite units across the western United States in many major metropolitan areas such as Denver, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Vancouver, and the San Francisco Bay Area.

MISSION STATEMENT
5th Brigade plans and conducts Battle Command and Staff Training (BCST) for command and control headquarters in support of the Global War on Terror and ARFORGEN in CONUS in order to provide ready and available battle staffs for deployment. On order supports BCST missions worldwide.
