After four years with the 908th Airlift Wing, Lt. Col. Kenneth Ostrat will become group commander for the 514th Operations Group at McGuire Air Force Base, N.J., working with KC-10A Extenders and C-17 Globemaster IIIs.

A C-130 Hercules aircraft of the 908th Airlift Wing takes off from Maxwell Air Force Base with the wing's maintenance hangers in the background. According to a recent Air Force announcement, the 908th's seven transport aircraft are to be retired. Although the unit will remain functional, members are concerned about the future, as any possible unit organization and mission have yet to be decided.

Two C-130 Hercules aircraft circle the flightline at Maxwell Air Force Base while a third prepares to taxi towards the runway. According to a recent Air Force announcement, the seven transport aircraft belonging to the 908th Airlift Wing are to be retired. 908ths Planes

The tail flashes of the 908th Airlift Wing's one-time fleet of eight C-130 Hercules aircraft adorn the Maxwell flightline. Last year, one allocated to Little Rock for pilot training. A recent Air Force announcement stated that 65 older C-130s, including the 908th's H models, would be retired as part of a force-restructuring plan.
