United States Department of Veterans Affairs

Fargo VA Health Care System

Research

About the Program:

Our current research studies enhance the Fargo VA's ability to maintain and improve the health and well being of Veterans.  The Research program oversees projects such as chronic illness telehealth intervention, American Indian Veterans' health, support for caregivers of Veterans undergoing chemotherapy, breast cancer prevention, acute respiratory distress, genomic profiling of cancerous tissues, oncology clinical trials, and the use of probiotics in healthy adults.

These projects often involve collaborations among medical professionals including social workers, pharmacists, nurses, doctors, and members of affiliated universities.

The Fargo VA Health Care System was recently selected as one of 37 VA facilities from across the nation to join the Women's Health Practice-Based Research Network.  This Network supports investigators conducting women Veterans' health studies and promotes the inclusion of women Veterans in research.
