U.S. Embassy in BiH welcomes yesterday’s agreement by political leaders

The U.S. Embassy in BiH welcomes yesterday’s agreement by political leaders on a range of outstanding issues including formation of the Council of Ministers, a budget for 2011 and adoption of some measures needed to move ahead on the path to the EU.  While long overdue, it is important that leaders have set aside differences and reached compromises in the best interests of the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.  We hope that this spirit of compromise will carry forward into the new year so that leaders can continue to make the reforms necessary for Euro-Atlantic integration, especially agreement on defense property and a budget for 2012.  The responsible institutions of BiH must now move swiftly to implement the decisions made at Wednesday’s meeting.
