Fort McCoy Garrison

Directorate of Emergency Services

The Directorate of Emergency Services (DES) supports the Fort McCoy Community by providing 24/7 services for protection, welfare, and safety of all who live, work or train at the installation. DES also manages the Army Reserve Installation Management Directorate Fire Off-Post Mission.

Primary DES functions include law enforcement, physical security, fire protection and prevention, emergency medical services, Enhanced 9-1-1 emergency communications, and off-post fire inspection of U.S. Army Reserve Centers. DES responds to emergency situations and supports functions that plan responses, educate the community, and disseminate public safety-related information. DES also serves as the subject-matter expert and primary incident commander for small- and large-scale incidents.

The directorate office is located within the Public Safety Center, building 1681. Office hours are 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., excluding federal holidays. Fire and Police operations are staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
