Medical Examination & Report

See the State Department website for information on medical exams.

The Embassy has authorized the physicians listed below of this notice to give medical examinations to visa applicants.  We accept medical clearances from any of our panel physicians in India.  Please make your own arrangements for an examination by any physician on the list at least seven days before your immigrant visa appointment.

For each family, bring

  • A passport
  • Three recent photographs
  • All medical records of vaccinations, prior illness or treatments.  You must discuss your medical history and current conditions - pregnancy, diabetes, hypertension and other conditions and medications taken - with the physician.

The physicians are Indian citizens practicing locally, and the examination they give to visa applicants conforms to standards and terminology prescribed by the United States Public Health Service.  Any attempt by the applicant to influence the physician's medical judgment will reflect unfavorably on the visa application.

The physician may need four to seven days to prepare the results of your medical examination.  Collect the report from him/her and bring it to Embassy on the day of your formal visa application appointment.
