Welcome to the American Citizens Services unit of the Embassy of the United States in Islamabad, Pakistan. American Citizen Services provides services to thousands of United States citizens living and working in Pakistan.
ACS is unable to answer any visa related inquiries. Please click here to find out how to contact the Immigrant and Nonimmigrant Visa Units to ask your questions.
The ACS unit in Islamabad visits Americans in jail, assists families and friends following the death of a U.S. citizen loved one, offers help to U.S. children and families involved in abductions, checks on the welfare of U.S. citizens, provides routine notary services, can help you register to vote in U.S. elections, and can provide you with information on safety and security in Pakistan.
Appointments
We require an appointment for all routine services, except notary services. The online appointment system allows you to schedule your own appointment in a time slot that suits you. This process is fast and easy and improves the quality and efficiency of the service that we provide.

U.S. Citizens may come to the Embassy between 8:30 am and 11:30 am on Mondays and Wednesdays without an appointment for notary services.

Hours of Operation
U.S. citizens may receive assistance with passports and birth registrations with an appointment from 8:00 am - 1:30 pm, Monday to Thursday. An appointment is not required for notary services. ACS is unable to answer any visa related inquiries. For questions regarding visas, please click on the following link: visa contact information.
Non-U.S. citizens may receive notary services each Monday and Wednesday between 8:00 am and 11:30 am without an appointment.
American Citizens Services is closed to the public on Fridays and during U.S. and Pakistani holidays.
