WASHINGTON, Aug. 26, 2011 - Triple B Corporation, an Anchorage, Alaska establishment, is recalling approximately 229 pounds of chicken Caesar salads because of misbranding and an undeclared allergen. The chicken Caesar salads include individual packets of Caesar salad dressing made with egg, a known allergen which is not declared on the package label.

The products subject to recall include: [View Label (PDF Only]
  • 12-oz. plastic containers of "Signature Café GRILLED CHICKEN CAESAR SALAD," with a Use By date of 08/25/11 through 08/30/2011 located on a sticker in the top right corner of the package.

Each package bears a label with the establishment number "P-38458" inside the USDA mark of inspection. The salads were produced between Aug. 20, 2011 and Aug. 25, 2011 and were distributed to retail stores in Alaska.

Triple B Corporation was notified of the problem by its co-manufacturer, Taylor Farms, who recalled similar products on the same day. Taylor Farms discovered the problem after learning of an adverse reaction to the consumption of a chicken salad product. FSIS and the company have not received reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of the products sold by Triple B Corporation. Anyone concerned about a reaction should contact a healthcare provider.

FSIS routinely conducts recall effectiveness checks to verify recalling firms notify their customers of the recall and that steps are taken to make certain that the product is no longer available to consumers. When available, the retail distribution list will be posted on FSIS' website at www.fsis.usda.gov/FSIS_Recalls/
