Female Wanted for Passing Forged Checks Detected by CBP in St. Croix

St. Croix, Virgin Islands – U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers identified a Virgin Islands resident wanted for passing forged checks in Florida before departure from the Henry E. Rohlsen Airport on Saturday afternoon. Heather Kodran, 28, a Christiansted resident, was identified by CBP officers before boarding an American Airlines flight to Miami, after databases indicated an outstanding warrant by the Martin County Sheriff's Department in Stuart, Florida for charges of passing forged checks. The passenger was allowed to continue her flight to Miami where CBP officers and Miami-Dade Police received her upon arrival for further proceedings. “CBP officers conduct themselves with utmost diligence and professionalism and will ensure that individuals that have transgressed the criminal justice system and are encountered at our borders are identified and detained,” stated Marcelino Borges, Director of Field Operations for Puerto Rico and the United States Virgin Islands.U.S. Customs and Border Protection is the unified border agency within the Department of Homeland Security charged with the management, control and protection of our nation's borders at and between the official ports of entry.
