(Thursday, January 31, 2013)
Del Rio, Texas – U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Brackettville station apprehended a convicted sex offender. On Wednesday, agents assigned to the Brackettville Border Patrol Station encountered Rafael Aguila-Montantes, a 34-year-old undocumented immigrant from Mexico. During processing, agents discovered that Aguila had an active warrant for violation of probation stemming from a sexual assault conviction in January of 1998, from the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office in Boerne. An immigration check revealed that Aguila had been previously deported in 2005. Aguila will be processed for removal from the United States and his prior order of removal will be reinstated.
