El Paso, Texas - U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers working at the El Paso port of entry made eight fugitive apprehensions this weekend including one man wanted in connection with a November 2011 stabbing in Anthony, Texas.

“The thorough inspections performed by CBP officers routinely result in the discovery and apprehension of wanted people,” said Hector Mancha, CBP El Paso Port Director. “Homeland security is our primary mission however every time we capture a wanted person that results in a safer community for us all. This is an important part of the work CBP does daily.”

CBP officers took custody of 20-year-old Leonardo Limon just before 7:00 p.m. Friday when he entered the Paso Del Norte crossing as a pedestrian. CBP officers performed a query on Limon and received notice that he was wanted in the state of New Mexico. CBP officers secured Limon and confirmed the warrant information. Limon was wanted for homicide, attempt to commit 1st degree murder, and other charges. He was turned over to the El Paso Police Department and booked into the county jail.

CBP officers working at the Paso Del Norte pedestrian crossing took custody of 21-year-old Julio Caesar Rosales just before 7:00 p.m. Sunday. The suspect arrived at the primary inspection station and told a CBP officer he was being sought by law enforcement. CBP officers confirmed that Rosales was being sought by the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office on aggravated sexual assault to a child charges. Sheriff’s officials arrived at the port and took custody of Rosales.
