USDA. National Institute of Food and Agriculture.

Documentation and reporting system for publicly supported agricultural, food and nutrition, and forestry research in the United States.

Child drinking water Drinking Water Research Information Network

EPA. Office of Water.

"A portal to information on projects funded or performed by water research organizations, government agencies in the U.S., international research organizations and academic institutions focused on drinking water issues. It is a compilation of drinking water project information from partner organizations that creates a single source of ongoing research."

Distributed Structure-Searchable Toxicity (DSSTox) Database Network

"DSSTox provides a public forum for publishing downloadable, structure-searchable, standardized chemical structure files associated with chemical inventories or toxicity data sets of environmental relevance..." The network is "helping to build a public data foundation for improved structure-activity and predictive toxicology capabilities."

Canvasback Duck DUCKDATA

DOI. USGS. Patuxent Wildlife Research Center.

Bibliographic database for North American waterfowl and their wetland habitats.

Enviro-Science e-Print Service

EPA. Environmental Information Management System.

Provides access to "manuscripts of journal articles and book chapters, conference papers, presentations, posters, and selected technical reports in environmental management science."

Environmental Fate Data Base (EFDB)

Syracuse Research Corporation.

The purpose of this database is "1. To allow rapid access to all available fate data on a given chemical without having to resort to expensive, time consuming, and inefficient primary literature searches; 2. To identify critical gaps in the available information to facilitate planning of research needs; and 3. To provide a data source for constructing structure-activity correlations for degradability and transport of chemicals in the environment."

EPA's Enforcement and Compliance History Online (ECHO)

Environmental Protection Agency

"ECHO provides fast, integrated searches of EPA and state data for 800,000+ regulated facilities; integrates inspection, violation, and enforcement for the Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, and hazardous waste laws; includes Safe Drinking Water Act data, Toxics Release Inventory data, National Emissions Inventory data, and Water Quality Data."

EPA's Section 319 Nonpoint Source Grants Database

EPA. Grants Reporting and Tracking System.

EPA's Nonpoint Source Grants Reporting and Tracking System (GRTS) is the primary tool for management and oversight of state Nonpoint Source (NPS) Management Programs under Section 319 of the Clean Water Act. Use the GRTS database to find information about NPS pollution control projects.

EXTOXNET (Extension Toxiocology NETwork)

Oregon State University.

Information available includes toxicology newsletters and fact sheets and keyword searchable Pesticide Information Profiles and Toxicology Information Briefs.

Salmon FishBase

FishBase.org

"Global information system with all you ever wanted to know about fishes. FishBase is a relational database with information to cater todifferent professionals such as research scientists, fisheries managers, zoologists and many more. FishBase on the web contains practically all fish species known to science."

Freshwater Biological Traits Database (Traits)

Environmental Protection Agency

"The Freshwater Biological Traits Database currently contains traits data for 3,857 North American macroinvertebrate taxa, and includes habitat, life history, mobility, morphology and ecological trait data. These data were compiled for a project on climate change effects on river and stream ecosystems. The traits data were gathered from multiple sources, which are listed on the web site under, "Data Source". Data gathering efforts focused on data that were published or otherwise well-documented by trustworthy sources, accessible, appropriate for the regions being studied, in a standardized format that could be analyzed or easily converted to a format that could be analyzed, and ecologically relevant to the gradients being considered."

Human Health Benchmarks for Pesticides

Environmental Protection Agency.

"Advanced testing methods now allow pesticides to be detected in water at very low levels. These small amounts of pesticides detected in drinking water or source water for drinking water do not necessarily indicate a health risk. The EPA has developed human health benchmarks for approximately 350 pesticides to enable our partners to better determine whether the detection of a pesticide in drinking water or source waters for drinking water may indicate a potential health risk."

Integrated Risk Information System (IRIS) Database for Risk Assessment

Environmental Protection Agency.

"A compilation of electronic reports on specific substances found in the environment and their potential to cause human health effects. (IRIS) was initially developed for EPAstaff in response to a growing demand for consistent information on substances for use in risk assessments, decision-making and regulatory activities.
