Program Eligibility Requirements/Application Instructions

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Enrollment as a full-time undergraduate student in a 4-year Baccalaureate program of study.
  • Class standing and/or completion of coursework required by college/university to qualify for cooperative education participation.
  • Registration in a recognized and/or an accredited academic cooperative education program through the college/university.
  • Availability to complete an average of 3 alternating full-time work terms (i.e., alternating full time quarters/semesters of school with full-time quarters/semesters of work) culminating with graduation.
  • Maintenance of good academic standing in an undergraduate program of study and satisfactory registration with the cooperative education program office at the college/university for the duration of participation.
  • Satisfactory performance of duties and responsibilities while employed at Fermilab as a Cooperative Education Program participant and subject to the policies and procedures of the Laboratory.

Application Instructions:

  1. Using an Internet Explorer browser (version 6.0 or higher), go to https://fermi.hodesiq.com/
  2. Under “Area of Interest,” select “Cooperative Education”
  3. Review the different postings for opportunities of interest to you
  4. Select “Apply Online” within the job announcement
  5. If there are no “Cooperative Education Student” opportunities posted for hire, then register a “Job Agent” and you will be immediately notified of new job openings as they are posted.

Eventually, eligible students will be required to submit some form of an academic transcript and proposed cooperative education schedule for formal consideration.

Alternative application instructions:  If your college/university cooperative education program office prefers to submit credentials on your behalf, a resume, current academic transcript and proposed alternating schedule can be sent directly to Shelley A.
