Welcome to the VMM-165 White Knights Family!
On behalf of Lieutenant Colonel January, Commanding Officer, Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 165 (VMM-165), I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to our family.
I am very excited to serve as your Family Readiness Officer (FRO) and ask that you allow me the opportunity to assist in whatever your Family Readiness needs might be. My career experience has trained me well for this position, and I cannot wait to help build a strong sense of community among our squadron. Some background about me: I have worked with families for the past 16 years in the Poway Unified School District and various non-profit organizations. I grew up here on Miramar and I hope you will come to love San Diego as much as I do.
As your FRO I am here to serve you and your family by providing you the resources that will make you successful. Family Readiness is the ability of the individual Marine, Sailor, and their family to successfully balance life, career and mission events.
The White Knights Family Readiness Program is designed to equip all “White Knight” Families with the tools they need to meet the challenges of military life. My responsibilities include official Family Readiness communication; information and referral; readiness and deployment support; and volunteer management.
You are a valued member of our Command and it is my heartfelt desire to support you in sustaining your readiness and conquering your challenges. I want to make sure that you feel a part of the VMM-165 family. One of the best ways to do that is to get involved. Please let me know if you are interested in joining our volunteer team.
