Spouse Leadership Development Course
Mission
Proactively educate USASMA spouses and promote a team-building approach by enhancing and developing leadership skills to support readiness, morale, and a successful command.
Vision
A premiere program for USASMA spouses that expands their leadership capacity, broadens their opportunities for growth, and recognizes their significant contributions to readiness.
Course Scope
This is a 42-hour resident ATRRS leadership support course designed for spouses of USASMA SMC students, staff and faculty Soldiers in both the active or reserve component. It prepares spouses of enlisted Soldiers for leadership support positions in the military community.
Major subject areas include programs in human psychology, human relations training, and leadership development. Spouses also learn healthy conflict management, proper protocol, and are educated in public speaking, communication, effective listening, and team building. Family readiness group training is also part of the curriculum, and spouses also receive in-depth information about benefits and entitlements, and health awareness. The Spouse Leadership Development Course is taught using a combination of lecture, discussion, and small group experiential learning exercises.
Registration
Registration for SLDC is now open. Please pick the days and timeframes that best suit your schedule. When your spouse registers you for the course on ATLAS, the system will generate a prompt inquiring if there is a need to modify any information. Please answer YES to the prompt so your information is recorded.
