  Sergeant Major Glenn D. Golba was born in Holyoke, Massachusetts, he graduated from Chicopee High School, Chicopee Massachusetts.

  In January 1982, he reported to MCRD, Parris Island, where he underwent recruit training. He graduated recruit training from Paris Island, South Carolina on April 21st 1982. Upon graduation from recruit training, he reported to Marine Corp Base Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.

  In August 1982 LCPI Golba reported to the United States Army Airborne School, at Fort Benning, Georgia. Upon graduating he reported to 2nd Air Delivery Platoon, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.

  In December of 1983 Lcpl Golba received orders to Camp Foster Okinawa Japan, where he was assigned to 3rd Air Delivery, upon completion of his tour he returned back to Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.

  In February of 1984 LCPI Golba reported to Fort Lee, Virginia to attend Parachute Rigger School. After graduation he returned back to 2nd Air Delivery,2nd FSSG Camp Lejeune, North Carolina and completed numerous deployments and exercises.

  In February 1986 LCPI Golba joined Weapons Company 1stBN 25th Marines, Chicopee, Massachusetts, where he subsequently picked up Corporal and Sergeant. In November of 1990 he was mobilized in support of Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm and was attached to 1st Marine Division Task Force Taro.

  Upon returning to the United States in April 1991, he transferred to 4th Anglico, West Palm Beach Florida. In 1993, after completing two years with 4th Anglico he transferred to AT- Tow Company Miami Fl, where he picked up Staff Sergeant and Gunny Sergeant

  In February 2002 he joined Charlie Company 1stBN 25th Marines Plainville, Connecticut. He participated in “Operation Enduring Freedom”, Operation Noble Eagle and Operation Southern Watch while assigned to CTF-53 with Navcent in Persian Gulf in 2003 and 2004. Having been selected for First Sergeant in May of 2004 he was transferred to 4th AAV BN, 4th Marine Division Tampa, Florida. In June of 2005 he was mobilized as the 1st Sergeant for 3d Provisional Security Company Djibouti, Africa. He returned back in April of 2006.

  Upon his selection to Sergeant Major in May, 2006 he received orders as the BN Sergeant Major for HQSVC BN 4th MLG, Marietta Georgia. The position he currently holds.

  SgtMajor Golba participated as a Member of the SMCR CY 2010 SNCO Selection Board that convened from 12 January 2010-12 March 2010.
