Additional Passport Pages

Application Requirements

If your passport is in good condition and will be valid for at least one more year, you may apply for additional visa pages, to a maximum of 3 additional sets of visa pages. If your passport is worn or damaged, for fraud prevention reasons, a Consular Officer may decline to add visa pages into your passport. Please note that you must be physically present in Hong Kong or Macau in order to have pages added to your passport.

Note: If your passport already has 3 additional sets of visa pages or is an emergency limited-validity passport issued at a U.S. Embassy or Consulate outside the United States you may not add pages, you must replace it with a full validity passport; please see Replacing an Emergency Passport With a Full-Validity Passport for full instructions.

Applying by Mail

Please mail the following:

  • Your most recent United States passport;
  • Completed passport application form DS-4085 in pdf format (download Form DS-4085 (PDF 60 KB)): all sections of the form must be completed. For tips on completing the DS- 4085, please see Completing the DS-4085. Please ignore pages one and two of the printed instruction pages, as they do not apply when applying for your passport pages overseas. Follow the instructions on this page;
  • A self-addressed return envelope in which to have your documents returned to you once processing is completed.

    We can only return passports to addresses in Hong Kong and Macau. Passport requests from applicants living in China or other countries will be rejected and returned by mail.

    Please note: While Hong Kong Post is very reliable, we cannot guarantee delivery of your passport. Those who want guaranteed delivery or the ability to track the receipt or delivery of their passport should include a self-addressed Local Courier Post Postage Prepaid Envelope (for delivery to Hong Kong) or Speed Post prepaid envelope (for delivery to Macau). The weight of the returned passport will be less than 500 grams. Inquiries regarding Speed Post or Local Courier Post should be directed to HongKong Post Office. As the Consulate does not keep track of tracking numbers, you are advised to keep a record of your Courier Post or Speed Post tracking number so you can track your passport's return to you.
  • Fees: The fee for additional passport pages application is U.S. $82 for up to two sets of pages.
