CYBER HERITAGE FACT OF THE WEEK

18 August, 2009--The 24th Air Force activated at Lackland AFB, TX. Air Force Space Command Commander, General C. Robert Kehler, presided over the ceremony. The activation was considered a "major milestone in the combination of space and cyberspace operations within one command." Major General Richard E. Webber assumed command of the new organization.

This pamphlet walks through the existing history of cyberspace integration into the operations of the U.S. Air Force. It provides insight into how 24th Air Force came into being, and provides documentation of the historical records that exist in the evolution of this manmade domain and the operations conducted in, from and through cyberspace.
