For the first time in the hospital's history, all three of U.S. Naval Hospital Guantanamo Bay's Sailors of the Year are female. HA Rachael Durkovic, who works in the Dental Clinic, was the BlueJacket of the Year for FY2012; HM2(AW) Loubel Velicaria, who works in the Primary Care Clinic, was the Junior Sailor of the Year for FY2012; and HM2 Astrid Turner, who works in the Laboratory, was the Sailor of the Year for FY2012. U.S. Naval Hospital Guantanamo Bay's Civilians of the Quarter are (l-r): John Burchett, Fiscal Department, Junior Civilian for the third quarter CY2012; Lisa Caulder, Laboratory Department, was the Senior Civilian for the third quarter CY2012; Michael Dick, Fiscal Department, was the Junior Foreign National for the third quarter CY2012; and Ashley Geiger, Facilities Department, was the Contractor for the third quarter CY2012. They were all presented with command Letters of Commendation during command quarters held today in front of the hospital. Lisa Caulder, USAF Reserve, has her new shoulder boards placed by CDR Christopher Lynch, MSC, USN, and CDR Carol Hurley, NC, USN, during a promotion ceremony at the U.S. Naval Hospital Guantanamo Bay quarterdeck on Oct. 12. Ms. Caulder is a civilian laboratory quality assurance manager at USNH GTMO, and normally does her reserve drilling with 482d Medical Squadron at Homestead Air Force Reserve Base, Homestead, Fla.
