  19. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month: Getting a mammogram every year is important to finding breast cancer early. The American Cancer Society recommends women age 40 and older get one every year. Screening mammogram appointments are available at Sewells Point, Boone, TRICARE Prime Clinics Virginia Beach & Chesapeake, and NMCP Radiology.

Tricare Prime enrollees do not need a provider appointment to get a screening mammogram as long as they complete the approved mammogram screening questionnaire with their clinic staff member and obtain a mammogram order. For more information about the Breast Cancer Screening Program, call 757-953-9733.
