Economic and Commercial Section

The Economic Section of the U.S. Embassy, Freetown is responsible for analyzing and reporting on economic developments in Sierra Leone and the region as well as safeguarding and promoting U.S. economic interests.  The section promotes U.S. goods in the Sierra Leone market and advocates for U.S. business in issues with the Sierra Leone government.  The section manages a broad array of bilateral and multilateral policy issues to include banking, commerce, economic development, energy, environment, finance, foreign direct investment, intellectual property, science, technology, telecommunications, trade, and transportation.  The Economic Section serves as a point of contact for international, governmental, non-governmental, and private organizations regarding business, commerce, and trade issues.
