Twelve U.S. Firms Participate in IDEX 2011 in Abu Dhabi
Abu Dhabi, UAE – The Middle East and North Africa offer many opportunities for American-made high-tech and military textiles. The U.S. Department of Commerce's Office of Textiles and Apparel (OTEXA) will be sponsoring a Sample Booth at the International Defense Exhibition Show & Conference or IDEX 2011, taking place February 20-24, 2011 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
IDEX 2011, a biennial show, is the largest tri-service defense exhibition in the Middle East and North Africa Region and is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Supreme Commander of the UAE Forces.
"It is vital for American textile firms to have a presence at this important Middle East focused show," said Kim Glas, deputy assistant secretary for textiles and apparel. "This is OTEXA's first time bringing exhibitors to this show and more than 40 percent of our participating companies are new to the market."
Twelve U.S. companies, as well as the North Carolina Department of Commerce, will display their products and literature in the OTEXA Sample Booth which will be fully staffed by an OTEXA representative. Participating companies include: American Cord & Webbing Company, Inc,; Bates Footwear; ChasnGear; The Cooley Group; HDT Engineered Technologies; Jensen Promotional Items, Inc.; Magic Textiles LLC; Milliken & Company; Precision Uniforms; Propper International; Protective Products Enterprises; Safety Components; and The North Carolina Department of Commerce.
OTEXA is a one-stop resource for U.S. companies interested in exporting all types of American made textiles to include technical, industrial, specialty and military textiles as well as fabrics for the home, office, and hotels. OTEXA markets American-made products overseas by promoting companies in international exhibitions, trade missions and in export seminars.
