Peter Kaldes Appointed Director of Legislative Affairs for the International Trade Administration
WASHINGTON – The International Trade Administration welcomed its new Director of Legislative and Intergovernmental Affairs, Peter Kaldes on November 8. Kaldes will be responsible for advising the Under Secretary on all legislative and congressional, as well as outreach to Governors and Mayors across the United States.
“I am pleased that Peter has joined the team to help realize the goals of ITA and the President’s National Export Initiative,” said Francisco Sánchez, under secretary for international trade. “Peter’s experience on the Hill with Congressional members and trade will be invaluable as we move forward in pursuing our aggressive export strategy.”
Peter previously served as Legislative Counsel to Senator Debbie Stabenow (D-MI). He was also a Senior Associate at Weil, Gotshal, and Manges, LLP. He began his career in ITA as an attorney in Import Administration’s Office of Chief Counsel.
