Christmas Spirit at the U.S. Embassy in Athens
12/21/2009 - The U.S. Embassy community led by the Marine Detachment Commander shared a little holiday cheer in the form of toys and other gifts with children in Athens. They worked with "The Smile of the Child" to bring much desired MP3 players, bikes and shoes, coats, and Ben Ten toys to children in celebration of the holiday season.

U.S. Embassy Reforests Area Hit By Fire
On Friday, November 13th over 100 volunteers from the U.S. Embassy, local non-profit organizations, and local high schools climbed up part of Mount Pendeli. The volunteers came replant some new life in the form of pine and laurel. The students and other volunteers were met at the site by Ambassador Daniel Speckhard, Pendeli Mayor Dimitris Stergiou and Vassilis Xipolitas – the President of Non-Governmental Organization Greenbelt – who partnered with the Embassy to make the reforestation possible.
