The U.S. Army Medical Materiel Center, Europe welcomed Deputy Surgeon General, Maj. Gen. Richard A. Stone to the post Nov. 30. Stone toured USAMMCE as part of his visit to U.S. Army Medical Command facilities in Europe.

After receiving the USAMMCE command brief, Stone was given a tour of the facilities, and he appeared very impressed with USAMMCE's operation and its employees. At the storage and distribution warehouse, the general rode on a stock selector to get a close-up look at how the "picking and put away" process works.

Even though his schedule was very tight, Stone extended his visit by an hour and a half, so he could see USAMMCE's various areas, including the Humanitarian Assistance Program warehouse.

The general said that he enjoyed the tour and that it was very educational. He said he will take with him much knowledge regarding USAMMCE and the HAP program.
